Poliptych of Badia (Florence)

It was removed from its original site in 1568 and, afterwards, underwent various vicissitudes. At the end of these vicissitudes it was badly damaged. An appropriate restoration allowed the return to high quality of the work, considered almost unanimously as being Giotto’s. It represents the Virgin with child and, from the left, St. Nicolas, St. John evangelist, St. Peter and St. Benedict.
